Science Communication & Outreach
Outside of my lab work, I strive to make science education engaging and accessible. I am co-president of the science outreach group Mentoring in Neuroscience Discovery at Sinai (MiNDS) where I focus my outreach efforts.
Organized and moderated several public seminar series on current topics in neuroscience, including:
Personalizing Mental Healthcare - Organizer & Moderator Dec 1st, 2021
The Social Brain: Adapting during the COVID-19 Pandemic - Organizer & Moderator Mar 18th, 2021
What can DNA tell us about mental illness? - Organizer Nov 20th, 2019

Published on the MiNDS website initially on September 27th, 2021. Provides an introduction into how the bacteria and microbes in the gut can affect the brain.
MiNDS hosts an annual brain fair during Brain Awareness Week each year. In 2021 and 2022, we held exclusively virtual events. I conceived and created a collection of infographics educating on fundamental topics in neuroscience, all available at the MiNDS website.
This podcast series was created by the leadership of MiNDS to provide insight to the people behind some of the biggest discoveries in modern neuroscience. Hosting the second installment of the podcast series, I had conversations with Mount Sinai principle investigators about their path to science.
